Opening ceremony event.

We have a public opening ceremony coming up on the 2nd Sept near the headwaters at Sahalie Falls.
We are doing an opening ceremony for big ecoregional listening tour and celebration of the Willamette River.

To start this tour we will be paying homage to the crystal clear headwaters of the Mckenzie river as they emerge from deep underground and tumble forth from the mouth of Sahlie falls or the Heavens as its translated from Chinook Wawa. It will be a time to listen and remember those beings who came before us and all the beings human and more than human who walk the path of caring for life. Much of this tour is to help us remember that we belong to this life and that comes with responsibilities to be good relatives to each other and the interwoven tapestry of other beings to whom we owe our continued existence. We will gather together at this powerful place to set intentions, listen and begin our journey in a good way. We invite you to Sing, Dance, Remember and to step into life as a human being of this territory and these waters.

Meet us at the Koosah Falls parking lot at 1:15pm on September 2nd. We will be in ceremony at the headwaters until around 4:30pm.

We will be gathering at Lost Valley Education Center in Dexter, OR, at 7:30pm for an evening group conversation exercise called salon that is inspired by a dear elder Hazel Vvarde.
