Usability Guidelines

Location-specific pages

For pages that refer to physical locations, please use the relevant location tag in the page title/name.

For instance, if you were to make an organization page for somewhere in Northern Willamette Valley, you might call the page "North:Organization Name."

Note that there is no space between the colon and the organization name. This allows for the website to sort the pages correctly.

 

White Space

For improved readability, please add white space between headings and subheadings. You can do this by editing the source text and including the text " "

 

Calendar Event Creation

When adding event times, you can include time ranges with start and end times separated by a hyphen "-". You are also able to publish times in a 12-hour format, despite the creation page encouraging the 24-hour format.

For locations, feel free to include addresses if the space is public. If the event takes place at a residence or private property, we ask that you include details/links that allow you to RSVP and attain exact locations in more discreet ways OUTSIDE of this wiki.

Grammatical Consistency

Commas

We prefer to use the Oxford comma (the comma before "and" or another conjunction in a list).

 

Numbers

We recommend spelling out numbers under 10 unless they occur at the beginning of a sentence or are part of a range or mathematical equation.
