Food Sovereignty
Food Sovereignty is the right of communities to define, create and sustain their own food systems in ways that prioritize local needs, cultural traditions, ecological balance and social equity. It emphasizes the empowerment of individuals and groups to control how food is produced, distributed and consumed, fostering practices that are regenerative, just and resilient. Food sovereignty rejects external exploitation or dependence, advocating for systems that nurture local knowledge, relationships and resources while ensuring fair access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food for all.
